What if My Cemetery is Within 90 Miles of Springdale, AR, But Not Listed?
Though we tried to list every cemetery within our installation area, it is possible that we missed one. Please notate the the name of the cemetery in the "Oder Notes" area while placing your order.
What if My Cemetery is Out of Area but I Still Need Installation?
Great question! We have a an extensive network of partner monument companies across the US. These are reputable, professional memorialists whom we will work with to ensure your monument is beautifully made and installed.
Because many variables impact this arrangement, we recommend calling us BEFORE you order to ensure we can service your cemetery.
What if My Cemetery Charges a Setting Fee or Requires a Concrete Pad?
You should already be aware if your cemetery charges a flagging/setting fee, or if they require a preformed concrete pad.
If Emerson Monument Company is installing your monument, a member of our team will reach out to you to arrange for these additional charges.
If Emerson Monument Company is not installing your monument, no further action is required, as you will handle this directly with your cemetery.
What if Emerson is Not Installing the Monument?
You are welcome to pick your monument up at our Springdale facility or have us ship it to you.
Please note, additional shipping charges may apply.
Emerson is Installing my Monument. How Will the Monument be Installed?
This is an upright monument that sits entirely above the ground. Underneath the monument we dig a foundational footing all the way to the frost line. Once dug, we pack it with a dry pour, level it and place the monument on top.
Emerson Is Installing my Monument. How Do They Know Where to Install it?
When you place your order we will ask for the name of the cemetery, as well as any plot information you may have.
Prior to installing the monument we contact the cemetery representative and ask them to mark the plot for us. Our crew will then install the monument where the cemetery representative has marked.
We do not meet clients in the cemetery for installation. As you can imagine, this causes a logistics nightmare because our schedule is heavily dependent upon weather, cemetery ground conditions, cemetery funeral schedule, and equipment.
After we install the monument we will call you AND send photos to you. Our crew takes several photos after installation to show the installed location as well as the monument itself.
Emerson Monument is Installing My Monument. How Will I Know When My Monument Has Been Installed?
After we have installed your monument we will call and text or email photos of the monument to you. We typically send photos of the front and back side of the monument, as well as images from the side to show the monument has been placed in line with other stones in the row.
Emerson Monument Company will not call you prior to installing the monument and will not meet you in the cemetery.
What if One Person is Still Living?
In the case of a couple where one partner has passed away and the other is still living:
- We will add the living spouse's date of birth and leave the date of death blank for future engraving.
- We go ahead and install the monument in the cemetery.
- After the living spouse passes away, someone will need to order the final date to be engraved on the monument.
- Adding the final date to the memorial after it's been installed in the cemetery is NOT included in the purchase price
My Monument is for Two People. Whose Name Goes on Each Side?
Getting each person's name on the correct side is important. Afterall, you don't want mom's name listed over dad's plot!
Ensure your memorial is made correctly by taking the time to thoroughly review the following:
- Is the monument going to face toward the East or toward the West? (in rare circumstances, it may face North or South).
- Whose name goes on the LEFT side of the monument and whose name goes on the RIGHT side of the monument.
If you do not know this information, we highly recommend going to the cemetery to determine it. If you are unable to go to the cemetery, we recommend visiting with the cemetery caretaker.
*WE WILL NOT DOUBLE CHECK THIS FOR YOU.
What is the Turn Around Time?
Please expect 4-6 months for us to make AND install your memorial.
That does not mean it WILL take that long but, because our schedule depends upon the weather, cemetery ground conditions, cemetery's funeral schedule, and equipment, we like to allow this length of time.
Times will vary if Emerson Monument Company is not installing your monument.
Can I Make Changes After I Place my Order?
After we receive your order we will send a digital proof of the monument. When you receive that proof you are welcome to make changes. After you submit your approval, we may no longer accept changes.
Will I Receive Order Updates?
Yes! We will send order updates by text and/or email every time your monument reaches a major manufacturing milestone.
How Do I Clean my Monument?
We recommend rinsing the monument off with water to remove large grains of dirt, dust, or sand. Then use a soft, micro-fiber cloth to gently remove remaining debris.
We highly recommend using D2, the only cleaner approved for use in the National Cemetery. We carry D2 in the store and will be glad to walk you through how to use it.
