Status Update: Waiting on Stencil to be Cut

The monument-making process is a fascinating artform that has been carefully perfected over time.

Carefully cutting your stencil is an essential step in the process. Our premium sandblast stencil is made of rubber and feeds through a machine that "cuts" your design out. It sounds really quick and simple. But, in reality, it is not so quick and easy! In fact, since 2020, this process has been both tedious and time-consuming.

You see, in 2020, our industry suffered a setback when 3M ceased manufacturing our preferred sandblast stencil. They have never resumed production, which has left us using a stencil that is incredibly difficult and time-consuming for our craftsmen to work with. Because of this, it is not unusual for your order to wait in line for several weeks while we cut the stencil.

Check out our short video below to see what goes on at this step in the process.
